About the role

  • Leading healthcare provider on the NSW south coast
  • Salary package up to $160k inc super, NFP benefits // relocation expenses
  • Can be based in Narooma, Batemans Bay or Bega

We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer to lead the operational activities within a regional health and community services provider on the NSW south coast. 

 

The role
 
Reporting into the CEO, this newly created Chief Operating Officer position forms part of the Executive Leadership Team.   The main focus areas of the role are to provide overall leadership and management of the operational activities of Katungul, ensuring the effective implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan, and overseeing day-to-day operations to achieve business objectives.

The role is based in Narooma, with additional offices and clinics in Bega and Batemans Bay. Katungul covers a wide operational base, and travel throughout the region is essential.

The core objectives are:

  • Development and implementation of the strategic plan
  • Day-to-day operations management
  • Ensure operations are in line with the organisation’s mission and values
  • Develop and strengthen relations with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, partners and clients
  • Development and implement performance metrics and reporting systems
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the management team
  • Represent the organisation at any relevant forums, conferences and events
  • Monitor all external factors (such as regulation, funding, market trends) and ensure the strategic plan remains relevant and compliant.

Selection Criteria

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (pursuant to Section 14 (d) of the Anti-discrimination Act and Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required.

We are seeking an experienced operations leader, ideally within a healthcare setting or Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisation, with at least 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.  

We are looking for a person who is decisive, proactive and results-oriented who likes to achieve excellence, is innovative and can communicate to customers and team members with flair and style.  A natural leader who is enthusiastic and good at seeing the big picture whilst focusing on results.

A clean drivers licence, Working with Children Check and NDIS check are required for this role.   

Benefits

A salary package of up to $160k (dependent on experience) inc. super and NFP benefits is on offer for the right candidate.  Flexible / hybrid working is available along with relocation expenses if required.  The role can be based at Narooma, Batemans Bay or Bega.
